New resources for clinicians to improve care for prolonged symptoms about Lyme disease

Lyme disease is the most common vector-borne disease in the U.S., with its geographic range expanding. Some patients experience long-lasting, debilitating symptoms despite treatment for Lyme disease or other infections. Health care professionals can provide meaningful support through compassionate, informed clinical care tailored to the patient’s symptoms and health priorities.

To help physicians and health care professionals improve the care of patients with prolonged symptoms and concerns about Lyme disease, the AMA, in collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Division of Vector-Borne Diseases, released two new resources: a clinician toolkit and a CME online training module.

Access these resources to discover evidence-based education, practical resources and patient care tools, including Lyme tests, diagnoses and care plan development, to enhance your practice and help improve patient care and outcomes.
