The AMA offers several fellowships and scholarships for medical students, including those offered specifically to rising 2nd-, 3rd- or 4th-year medical students.

- AMA Foundation Physicians of Tomorrow Scholarship: The Physicians of Tomorrow Scholarship rewards 3rd-year medical students with a $10,000 award. The annual award is based on academic achievement and/or financial need.
- AMA Foundation Minority Scholars Award: The Minority Scholars Award encourages diversity in medicine and is committed to increasing the number of minority physicians to better reflect the needs of our diverse society. Nominees must be 1st- or 2nd-year medical students and permanent residents or citizens of the United States.
- The Arthur N. Wilson, MD Scholarship: The Arthur N. Wilson, MD Scholarship provides an annual $5,000 tuition assistance scholarship to a currently enrolled medical student who graduated from a high school in southeast Alaska.
- Medical Student Section (MSS) Fellowship: The MSS Government Relations Advocacy Fellow (GRAF) offers the opportunity to be a full-time paid member of the AMA's federal advocacy team for 1 year.
