Tripti Caday Kataria, MD, MPH, MBA, is a board-certified anesthesiologist practicing in Chicago. She completed her anesthesiology residency with a concentration in regional anesthesia at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston and her cardiothoracic anesthesiology fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. Dr. Kataria currently oversees level of care and chart audit services, including the implementation of generative AI platforms, at R1 where she leads the company’s team of physician advisors as manager of Physician Advisory Services.
Elected in June 2026 to the American Medical Association Board of Trustees, Dr. Kataria has been active in the AMA since her early efforts with the AMA Young Physicians Section. She served eight years on the AMA Council on Legislation, including as its chair, and currently serves as a member of the AMA’s Digital Health, AI and Informatics Task Force.
At the state level, Dr. Kataria is president of the Illinois State Medical Society. She has been deeply engaged in the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) throughout her career and is a past president of the Illinois Society of Anesthesiologists.
Dr. Kataria has developed deep expertise spanning clinical anesthesia, healthcare policy, revenue cycle management, and the integration of augmented intelligence in clinical and administrative settings. She has earned recognition for her leadership, research and service, including the AMA Foundation Leadership Award.
A national keynote speaker and invited panelist, Dr. Kataria has presented at grand rounds, national conferences and professional forums on topics that reflect her longstanding commitment to physician leadership, health policy, AI and digital health, and healthcare economics.
Dr. Kataria, who is a fellow in the ASA, earned her MD and BA in biology from the University of Missouri–Kansas City through an accelerated six-year program. She received her MPH with a focus on health policy and management from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and her MBA, with honors, from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business.
