AMA Spring Internship Program for medical students and residents / fellows

The AMA Spring Internship Program offers medical students and residents/fellows the opportunity to build leadership and professional skills, expand their professional networks within medicine, and contribute meaningfully to the AMA’s mission.

This unique program gives participants the opportunity to support the initiatives of an AMA business unit over the course of one month. Interns will be matched with an AMA business unit and assigned a project to complete in collaboration with AMA staff.

Program requirements

  • Exclusively for medical student and resident/fellow members of the AMA.
  • A bachelor's degree.
  • Temporary relocation to Chicago for the four-week internship time frame.

Program details

  • Internship dates are flexible and will be determined based on the needs of both the intern and the assigned AMA business unit.
  • Internships will last four weeks and take place during a four-week window between March and May 2027.
  • Modest salary will be provided.
