Outgoing AMA President gives farewell speech on COVID-19, medicine, science

CHICAGO – In her final speech as president of the American Medical Association, Patrice A. Harris, M.D., M.A., today delivered remarks on her presidency, the challenges physicians face in the fight against COVID-19, and the importance of grounding decisions in science, evidence and data. The speech, delivered to a virtual Special Meeting of the AMA House of Delegates, capped Dr. Harris’s historic year-long presidency.
