CHICAGO — The American Medical Association today announced a new, expanded relationship with New York Life Insurance Company under which New York Life becomes the new underwriting carrier for the AMA’s sponsored insurance program. Effective July 1, 2018, AMA-sponsored life, disability, and accident plans will transition to New York Life as the AMA continues to enhance its insurance product offerings for physicians. Enhanced features, increased benefit maximums, and special discounts for AMA members will be made available under this affiliation through the AMA’s wholly-owned subsidiary, AMA Insurance Agency, Inc.
“At every point in a physician’s professional journey, this new partnership with New York Life will enable AMA Insurance to offer more choices, better coverage, and tailored solutions to help physicians make the right decisions for building a healthy financial future,” said Pamela Moy, Group Vice President and General Manager of AMA Insurance. “New York Life shares a vision with the AMA to offer a program designed exclusively for physicians and their unique needs. The pairing of these two industry leaders, the AMA and New York Life, means physicians can be confident in the quality and financial stability of their insurance choices.”
