Through caucusing and working closely with the MSS Governing Council at-large officer, the leadership of each of the seven MSS Regions works at the regional level to make an impact on future AMA policy. This includes developing, and also collaborating with other regions, to write resolutions that will be presented for consideration at the biannual meetings of the MSS Assembly or HOD Annual and Interim Meetings, engaging with stakeholders, and testifying in support of a resolution. Actions that the HOD makes on resolutions establish AMA policy.
Region leaders also facilitate engagement between new and well-established local campus sections, foster communication among members, and represent the needs of their regions to the MSS.
