Mateo Perez serves as the medical student member on the Advisory Committee on American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) Affairs at the American Medical Association.
The Advisory Committee on American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) Affairs provides guidance to the AMA Board of Trustees and AMA management on policy and advocacy initiatives impacting AI/AN medical students, physicians, and patients, while also contributing to broader AMA efforts aimed at improving health outcomes for this population.
Perez earned his bachelor’s degree in biology at Dartmouth College and is currently a medical student at Oregon Health and Science University.
