The Integrated Physician Practice Section (IPPS) is committed to providing a learning environment where physicians from physician-led, integrated organizations can network and learn from each other, and share their experience with physician leaders moving toward integration.
The Integrated Physician Practice Section offers a number of opportunities to get involved, network and enhance your leadership skills.
Become an IPPS representative
IPPS representatives bring the perspective of their integrated practices to the IPPS. Currently, more than 50 organizations (PDF) from across the country are represented in the section. Become an IPPS representative by submitting the certification form.
IPPS Governing Council
The strategy and activities of the IPPS are directed by a nine-member governing council elected by section membership.
The next IPPS Governing Council election will be held June 5, 2026, at the IPPS Annual Meeting. One position is open:
- Small-Medium Group Representative (350 or fewer practicing physicians)
Qualifications and attributes
Applicants must hold active membership in the IPPS. Become an IPPS member.
Additionally, ideal candidates for the governing council typically exhibit these qualifications and attributes:
- Serve as C-suite executives within their organizations
- Seek to advance physician-led value-based care as a leading model of health care delivery
- Demonstrate a commitment to influencing the AMA policy process
- Value peer-to-peer learning, networking and leadership development opportunities
Time commitment
- Governing council terms are two years with a maximum tenure of eight years
- In-person meetings: three live, two-day meetings annually
- June and November (aligned with the AMA Annual and Interim Meetings)
- Late summer leadership retreat
- Virtual meetings: scheduled as needed throughout the year
