Members of the Integrated Physician Practice Section (IPPS) met during the 2026 Interim Meeting of the AMA on Friday, Nov. 6 at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort in Orlando, Florida. The meeting featured timely educational programming, policy discussions and updates from across the AMA.

Your Powerful Ally
Through AMA advocacy and policymaking, we are addressing the issues important to you—together—and shaping what’s next for physicians.

To open the meeting, the IPPS elected Alex McDonald, MD, FAAFP, CAQSM, a family and sports medicine physician with the Southern California Permanente Medical Group (SCPMG), to serve as the IPPS alternate delegate.

The IPPS hosted two highly engaging educational sessions, each drawing more than 50 attendees: "Federal and Commercial Value-Based Models: Navigating the New Payment Landscape" and "Aligning AI Implementation with Physician Well-being." Both sessions generated strong audience engagement and lively discussion during the Q&A segments.

The IPPS discussed several resolutions and reports under consideration by the AMA House of Delegates (HOD). The section considered one on-time resolution and advanced it to the HOD for consideration:

  • Resolution 236–Standardization of Quality Performance Reporting in Value-Based Payment Arrangements

Additionally, the section considered a second late resolution, “Action Regarding CMS Authority to Exclude Entities from Medicare, Medicaid, and Federal Health Care Programs,” which was not advanced.

The meeting also included updates from the AMA Center for Digital Health and AI, the Career Advancement Collective, the AMA Foundation, AMPAC, and the IPPS Board of Trustee liaisons.
