William Swain, MD, serves as the resident/fellow member on the Advisory Committee on American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) Affairs at the American Medical Association.
The Advisory Committee on American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) Affairs provides guidance to the AMA Board of Trustees and AMA management on policy and advocacy initiatives impacting AI/AN medical students, physicians, and patients, while also contributing to broader AMA efforts aimed at improving health outcomes for this population.
Dr. Swain earned his bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Michigan. He is a cardiology fellow and an instructor of medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science.
