Frequently asked questions

What is the cost to subscribe to the AMA GME Resource Program?

The cost per resident ranges from $13.50 to $45 each year—and includes access to the AMA GME Competency Education Program courses. Schedule a brief meeting to receive an exact quote.

Can I just pay for courses a la carte?

The cost per resident provides access to all courses. GME Competency Education Program customers can customize the courses they want to directly assign to their learners.

If I want to customize multiple curriculum assignments for different programs and/or program years, does my price go up?

Not at all. As a GME Competency Education Program partner, you can customize you course assignments as much or as little as needed with no changes to your initial pricing.

I already assign too many online courses for my trainees. Why should I add these?

The best-in-class learning experience. Our courses were designed using online, adult-learning best practices. There are no recorded lectures, just dynamic and engaging modules with an average run time of 14 minutes. Residents on average rate our courses between 4 to 5 stars.

We also have the most comprehensive library of courses available for residents and fellows in the country. We might be able to help you reduce and consolidate the courses you are already assigning! Work with a GME consultant to learn how.

I saw in the course catalog that you have courses for faculty development. Are those included?

Yes! We provide faculty access at no additional cost. Also, your faculty will receive free CME credits upon completion. A little carrot never hurts!

What is “micro-learning” and how does this educational approach benefit my learners?

Micro-learning is an educational approach that introduces learners to complex topics by breaking them down into smaller pieces, reducing cognitive load and leading to increased knowledge retention and better performance compared to traditional training methods.

Can administrators easily track resident and fellow completions?

Our job is to make your life easier, not harder. GME Competency Education Program partners have access to dashboards and reports that provide a view of engagement both at a program and institution level. GME staff have access to ready-made reports and can customize reports of their own that not only make it easy to track learner performance, but also demonstrate compliance for accreditation.

Residents also receive a certificate when they pass a post-course assessment. These can be saved in their transcript records.

Do you only offer online courses?

In addition to online courses, we also offer our GME Speakers Bureau available at no charge. We can provide experts to assist with grand rounds (understanding contracts, financial planning, etc.) and to lead faculty workshops to help create a more positive learning environment. Schedule a meeting with a GME consultant to tailor a program for your institution.

I learned you can assist with measuring resident/fellow burnout. Is that included?

Yes! Schedule an appointment to learn more.

Why is my program not already using this?

We were wondering the same thing! Learn more about how to access.
