We are pleased to announce a new benefit for Lee Health physicians. In recognition of the importance of supporting physician focus and well-being, Lee Health is joining other leading health systems across the country in subscribing to the new American Medical Association (AMA) Health System Program. Through this program, the AMA will partner with our leadership to tailor new solutions that strengthen our support for our physicians and other care team members.

The AMA has spent more than a decade focused on the core strategies of improving physician satisfaction by removing obstacles that interfere with patient care; driving the future of medicine by reimagining medical education, improving the health of the nation by leading the charge to prevent chronic disease, and advancing health equity to provide optimal health for all.

Our participation in the AMA Health System Program will help us:

1. Enhance physician well-being by looking at changes we can make as a system to improve our processes and culture.
2. Utilize various AMA platforms that provide a national spotlight to elevate and recognize the amazing work you are leading.
3. Increase opportunities for physician leadership and advocacy by providing greater access to AMA health care policy development and Member Interest Groups.

What does this mean for Lee Health physicians?

As part of Lee Health's participation in the AMA Health System Program, we are pleased to announce that all Lee Health physicians will receive individual AMA membership and full benefits at no cost to you. 

If you recently joined or renewed your AMA membership, your AMA dues will be refunded, and your membership will transition to the Lee Health group membership program. 

The refund deadline is Feb. 28, 2026. If your 2026 membership was sponsored by another entity, you will not qualify for a refund. If your membership dues were paid by Lee Health, please be sure the refund is processed back to the organization.

What’s next?

The AMA will activate our membership, and once complete, you will receive a “Welcome” email from the AMA in the coming weeks. This message will include instructions on accessing your benefits and customizing your AMA experience. You may take advantage of as many of these benefits as you choose.
