Physician Shortage
Physician shortages can have nationwide, long-lasting effects on public health. The primary care physician shortage in the U.S. has become a growing concern in recent years, identified as a major barrier to accessing health care. These shortages can result in longer wait times for patients, reduced access to care and lower quality of care. Find out what the AMA is doing to address current and future physician shortages.
