We are pleased to announce a new benefit for University of Iowa Health Care physicians. In recognition of important resources supporting our areas of physician focus and well-being, University of Iowa Health Care has pledged to join other leading health systems across the country in subscribing to the new AMA Health System Program. Under this program, the AMA will partner with our leadership to tailor new solutions to allow us to maximize our support for both our physicians and other care team members.
The American Medical Association (AMA) has spent more than a decade focused on the core strategies of improving physician satisfaction by removing obstacles that interfere with patient care; driving the future of medicine by reimagining medical education, improving the health of the nation by leading the charge to prevent chronic disease and advancing health equity to provide optimal health for all.
Our participation in the AMA Health System Program will reinforce our ability to:
1. Enhance the well-being of our physicians by looking at changes we can make as a system to improve our processes and culture.
2. Utilize various AMA platforms to provide a national spotlight that creates more recognition for the amazing work you are leading.
What does this mean for University of Iowa Health Care physicians?
As part of University of Iowa Health Care's participation in the AMA Health System Program, we are pleased to announce that all University of Iowa Health Care physicians will receive individual AMA membership and benefits. Your individual membership to the AMA will be sponsored by University of Iowa Health Care at no cost to you.
If you have recently joined or renewed your AMA membership, your AMA dues will be refunded, and your membership will continue under the University of Iowa Health Care group membership program.
What’s next?
The AMA will activate our membership, and once complete, you will receive a Welcome email from the AMA in the coming weeks, providing access to your benefits and offering instructions on customizing your AMA experience. Please feel free to take as much or as little advantage of these benefits as you desire.
