AMA End Overdose Epidemic website updated with new educational resources
More than 26 medical societies provided updated information to the AMA End Overdose Epidemic website to provide the nation’s physicians with the latest guidance and recommendations.
The updates, among them relevant resources from government agencies, now highlight more than 450 educational resources regarding care for patients with pain, patients with substance use disorders and harm reduction initiatives. The site also includes reports from the AMA and recommendations from the AMA’s Substance Use and Pain Care Task Force.
AMA reports and recent resources on the site include:
- Dispelling Myths of Bystander Overdose (PDF)
- AMA-Manatt 2024: Improving Access to Care for Pregnant and Postpartum People with Opioid Use Disorder (PDF)
- 2023 AMA Overdose Epidemic Report (PDF)
- Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Parity Enforcement (PDF)
Site users can expect to find educational resources related to topics including advocacy, stigma, awareness, clinical practice and continuing medical education. In addition, the microsite houses a data dashboard complete with tables, charts and graphs reflecting the state of the epidemic.
