The 2019 American Conference on Physician Health (ACPH) is a scientific conference sponsored jointly by the American Medical Association, Mayo Clinic and Stanford University. The theme of the conference is “Activating health system change to promote physician well-being.”

The overarching goal of this joint scientific conference is to promote scientific research and discourse on the topic of the health care system infrastructure and what organizations can do to help combat burnout and promote well-being. The conference agenda is determined by the abstract submissions for the conference.

Call for Abstracts

Abstract submission: Submissions will be accepted through the online portal from Dec. 10, 2018-March 29, 2019. Interested parties may submit their abstracts in one of two categories:

  • Research: submitted as either a poster or oral presentation
  • Workshop: submitted as an interactive session

(Note: Both research and non-research based workshops will be considered)

Before submitting your abstract be sure to review the instructions in the “Call for abstracts” document and download the appropriate submission template.

Submissions for all abstracts must be made electronically via the online portal.

*For all accepted abstracts, only one registration slot (for the corresponding author/submitter) will be held per abstract at the Presenter rate, regardless of the number of authors. Additional authors are advised to register individually (and early) to secure their spot.

Frequently asked questions

How will I know if my abstract was submitted?

After you complete your submission, a confirmation email will be sent letting you know that your submission was successfully received. Keep a copy of this receipt for your records, along with a copy of the submission documents.

Can I make any changes to any part of my abstract submission (e.g., edits to the abstract document, addition or deletion of supporting material)?

No. Once all information (abstracts, supporting materials and other demographic information) is submitted, it cannot be changed. If there is an issue with your abstract, contact ACPH staff at [email protected] or (312) 464-4043.

When will I be notified if my abstract was accepted?

Acceptance or rejection of the abstract will be communicated via email to the corresponding/submitting author by late May 2019. If you need to contact us prior to this notification, send an email to [email protected] or call (312) 464-4043.

When can I register for the conference and book my hotel room?

Registration for the conference and hotel reservations open in the summer of 2019. Continue to check the 2019 ACPH conference website for updates.
