Review the AMA Code of Conduct for ensuring professional and ethical behavior at AMA events and functions, and the association's zero tolerance for any type of harassing conduct.

Programs and activities of the YPS are directed by a seven-member governing council elected by members of the section. Positions up for election at the 2021 June meeting include: 

  • Chair-elect 
  • Speaker
  • Alternate delegate

The May 10 deadline to submit nomination forms has past, but you may still submit a nomination during the YPS meeting.

#MeToo in medicine roundtable discussion

Co-sponsored by the LGBTQ AC, Minority Affairs Section & Women Physicians Section

Brave individuals in the #MeToo movement have exposed widespread sexual harassment across many industries. Medicine is no exception. This session will examine the #MeToo movement in medicine and help young physicians identify the realities of sexual impropriety in health care and how to create change to create a safer, more equitable training environment and workplace.

YPS Chair-elect Laura Faye Gephart, MD, MBA will lead a panel discussion with:

  • Fatima Cody Stanford, MD, MPH, MPA, MBA, physician scientist at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School
  • Tina Tchen, JD, president and CEO of TIME’S UP Now and the TIME’S UP Foundation.

Contribute to YPS policymaking efforts by submitting a resolution for consideration at the YPS June 2021 Meeting.  The resolution submission deadline was April 30. Direct any questions to [email protected].

New to the policy-making process? Access our education module "How AMA Policy is Made" and learn how YPS members influence the AMA’s policymaking efforts.

Visit the YPS online member forum to review the comments submitted before the meeting. The deadline to submit comments for consideration by the YPS reference committee was May 20.

Between May 28 and June 2, YPS representatives will be able to vote electronically on Reference Committee report recommendations before the YPS assembly meeting on June 11.
