Nicole Riddle, MD, a pathologist from Tampa, FL, will serve as the member at-large of the Young Physicians Section (YPS) Governing Council for the 2019-20 term.
The YPS is a member interest group within the AMA for physicians under 40 years of age or within the first eight years of professional practice after residency and fellowship training. The Section Governing Council is responsible for enhancing young physician practice of medicine, including the transition into practice and facilitating the participation of young physicians in policy development.
Since becoming the MSS alternate delegate during her first semester of medical school, Dr. Riddle has been actively involved in organized medicine. Over the last 17 years, she has served in many roles for the AMA, state and county medical organizations, as well as several pathology organizations. Dr. Riddle is the recipient of numerous awards for teaching excellence and leadership from academic institutions, pathology affiliate organizations and hospitals. She currently serves as the delegate for the United States and Canada Academy of Pathology (USCAP). In addition, she currently serves on the College of American Pathology’s (CAP) Digital Content Committee, and as sergeant-at-arms for the House of Delegates (HOD) Steering Committee. The Pathologist named Dr. Riddle to the 2019 Power List Top 100 Trailblazers in the Lab. She also received the 2018 Power List Top 100 Best and Brightest award from The Pathologist and was named one of 2018's Top 40 Under 40 by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
