Susan Thompson Hingle, MD

Susan Thompson Hingle, MD, an internal medicine physician, has been elected to serve as vice chair of the AMA Women Physicians Section (WPS) Governing Council for the 2022-2023 term. She also serves as a member at-large of the WPS for the 2021-2023 term. 

The WPS is a member interest group within the AMA for women physicians and medical students. The section governing council is responsible for increasing the membership, participation and leadership of women in the AMA as well as advocating on women’s health and women in medicine policy issues.

Dr. Hingle is an internal medicine physician who is a professor of medicine at the SIU School of Medicine. She is also the associate dean for human and organizational potential, SIU School of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Hingle serves on the board of directors for the American Medical Women’s Association.
