Barbara Hummel, MD, is a family medicine specialist serving as chair of the Private Practice Physician Section (PPPS) Governing Council for the 2022-2024 term.
The PPPS is a member interest group within the AMA for physicians in private practice. The section governing council is responsible for directing PPPS efforts to preserve the freedom, independence and integrity of private practice.
Dr. Hummel has also served as a member of the Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians board of directors, as president of the Wisconsin Medical Society, and as member of the board of the Independent Physician Network of Southeast Wisconsin.
