Claudia López, MD, a current third year resident in obstetrics & gynecology at the University of California, Davis, serves as the Resident and Fellow Section Representative of the Minority Affairs Section Governing Council.
The MAS is a member interest group within the AMA dedicated to addressing the issues and concerns of underrepresented minority physicians and improving the health of minority populations.
Dr. López completed her undergraduate degree in human biology at Stanford University and her medical degree at Oregon Health & Science University. During medical school, she was heavily involved in the Latino Medical Student Association and served on the regional board as the vice president of Medical Education, starting a journal club program that medical students could bring back to their institutions to help facilitate conversations about race and ethnicity for underrepresented minority students.
