Bukky Akingbola, a fourth year DO/MBA medical student at Lincoln Memorial-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine (LMU-DCOM), serves as the Medical Student Section Representative on the Minority Affairs Section Governing Council.
The MAS is a member interest group within the AMA dedicated to addressing the issues and concerns of underrepresented minority physicians and improving the health of minority populations.
Ms. Akingbola earned her B.S in neuroscience and a B.A in family social science from the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul Minnesota. She holds a Master of Science degree from Lincoln Memorial University. She is a member of the Tennessee Medical Association Student Section and has participated on advisory councils discussing issues pertaining to minority medical students and academic success in medical school. She served on the national board of directors of the Student National Medical Association, and national board of directors and as program director for the National Future Leadership Project.
