The International Medical Graduates Section (IMGS) celebrated its 25th Annual Meeting with over 40 participants attending the Congress business meeting, which featured Todd Askew, senior vice president for advocacy, who provided an excellent Advocacy Update.

The IMGS Governing Council and Congress ratified the following officers for the 2022-2023 term.

Congress business meeting
The IMGS was successful in submitting four resolutions to its section meeting which was an engaging forum for discussing IMG and House of Delegates policy initiatives.

The IMGS meetings culminated with its joint IMG and Minority Affairs Sections Delegates’ Caucus held on Monday, June 13.
Education sessions
The Busharat Ahmad, MD, Leadership Development program held on Sunday, June 12, featured Susan Bailey, MD, AMA immediate past president’s presentation on “Leadership in Times of DEI Evolution.”
This program was well-received and offered many strategies for physician leaders to embed health equity in their organizations. This program was approved for 1.0 of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
