The Integrated Physician Practice Section (IPPS), the AMA’s home for physician-led, clinically integrated systems, met on Friday, Nov. 15.
IPPS members engaged in a dynamic morning program, No street left behind, focusing on social determinants of health featuring two speakers from Henry Ford Health System and a panel discussion comprised of IPPS members Barbara Spivak, MD of Mount Auburn IPA, Massachusetts, Greg Fuller, MD of Catalyst Health Network, Texas, and Al Rahimi, MD of Kaiser Permanente.
In the afternoon, IPPS members engaged with speaker Dan Stein, MD of Embold Health who discussed his organization’s work with large employers to identify physicians providing the highest quality, cost effective care. The program featured a reaction panel of IPPS members including Narayana Murali, MD, Marshfield Clinic, Adnan Munkarah, MD, Henry Ford Health System and Mitch Garrison, MD, Confluence Health.

2020 candidates for alternate delegate
IPPS Governing Council Chair, Michael Glenn, MD of Virginia Mason Medical Center, announced an opening for the IPPS alternate delegate seat with elections at the upcoming 2020 Annual Meeting , June 5. Two nominees declared their interest in the position: Rhonda Sharp, MD, Parkview Health, Indiana and Steven Wang, MD, Kaiser Permanente.
