The LGBTQ & Allies Caucus met virtually on Friday, June 10.
The Advisory Council co-sponsored with the Minority Affairs Section a panel presentation with team members from the AIDS Foundation Chicago on Policy, Housing, and Health Equity. This education program provided an opportunity for members to engage in meaningful discussion around the many programs the AIDS Foundation of Chicago provides to its clients who are impacted by HIV/AIDS, homelessness, chronic health conditions and health care disparities. A special note of gratitude to Craig Johnson, AMA Group Manager for the Minority Affairs Section and Board of Directors Chair for the AIDS Foundation of Chicago who facilitated this panel discussion.
The AMA thanks and honors Frank Dowling, MD, who has served as the chair for the Advisory Committee for the past year. We also thank Magda Houlberg, MD, LeAnne Roberts, MD and James Ding, who concluded their terms on the Advisory Committee this month, for their service and leadership. Joining the committee will be Mollie Marr, Jason Schneider, MD, and Shail Maingi, MD. The passion, expertise and engagement of these individuals is the key to our success.
