Kevin W. Williams

Kevin W. Williams was elected to the American Medical Association Board of Trustees as its public member in November 2015 and officially began serving his four-year term in June 2016.
Mr. Williams was most recently the board chairman, president and managing director of General Motors (GM) of Canada Ltd. Prior to this role he held a number of other global senior roles at GM, including serving as president and managing director of GM de Mexico, and as vice president and general manager, Service and Parts Operations, where he was responsible for overseeing all GM global aftersales businesses.
In addition to being North American vice president of Quality and Reliability and a member of the GM North America Strategy Board from May 2003 through June 2009, Mr. Williams was also global executive director, Supplier Quality, Development and Supplier Diversity for Worldwide Purchasing, and executive director, Supplier Quality and Development, for GM Europe, with responsibilities spanning 22 countries and 1,500 employees.
Mr. Williams, who earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Tennessee State University in 1983 and a master’s degree in business administration from Central Michigan University in 1989, is a former trustee (May 2009–June 2012) of the Genesys Health System of Michigan. Today, his civic involvement continues with his membership on the boards of both the United Negro College Fund Foundation and the Tennessee State University Foundation.
