The International Medical Graduates (IMG) Council builds on the accomplishments of the International Medical Graduates Advisory Committee and focuses on the same 3 themes: fairness in the practice environment, equity in licensure and credentialing and equal access to residency training.

Bhushan Pandya, MD

Dr. Pandya has also served as the chair-elect of the AMA-IMGS Governing Council. Dr. Pandya is currently the president-elect of the Medical Society of Virginia and will be installed as president in October 2016.

June-Anne Gold, MD

Dr. Gold has also served as delegate and alternate delegate of the AMA-IMGS Governing Council. Dr. Gold is an associate professor at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California.

Ved Gossain, MD, FRCP (c), MACP, FACE

Dr. Gossain has also served as delegate to the AMA-IMGS Governing Council. He has served as the chief of endocrinology for 20 years at Michigan State University where he is the Swartz Professor of Medicine (Emeritus-Active).

Chair-Elect
Subhash Chandra, MD

Dr. Chandra has also served as the Resident and Fellow representative to the IMGS GC, APA Area II and alternate delegate to the AMA. Dr. Chandra is the clinical assistant professor at Suny Downstate Medical Center and works in the capacity of forensic psychiatrist at Brooklyn Supreme Court, New York.

Kevin King, MD

Dr. King serves as the academic chair and residency program director in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Kendall Regional Medical Center in Miami, Florida.

Alternate Delegate
Lt. Colonel Ronit Katz, MD

Dr. Katz has also served as the chair and Immediate past chair of the IMGS Governing Council. Dr. Katz is the clinical associate professor at Stanford University School of Medicine and Stanford Hospital and Clinics.

Guillermo Godoy, MD

Dr. Godoy is adjunct professor of pediatrics and obstetrics at the University of Alabama, CCHS in Tuscaloosa. He is also chair of the Ethics Committee at DCH Health System Hospitals.

Sameer Avasarala, MD

Dr. Avasarala serves as a chief resident in the Department of Internal Medicine at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Avasarala is also an AMA delegate for the Michigan State Medical Society.
