Elections will be held at the Annual Meeting of the House of Delegates on June 13, 2023.

Officers and seven councils are elected by the American Medical Association House of Delegates (HOD) at the Annual Meeting. The elections are conducted during a special election session under the supervision of the Committee on Rules and Credentials and the chief teller, who are appointed by the speakers. The speaker and vice speaker are responsible for overall administration of the elections. Voting is conducted by secret ballot.

Christopher Gribbin, MD

2023-2027

As one who spends his days deep in the world of imaging technology, interventional radiologist, Chris Gribbin, MD, appreciates the veracity of that cliche, “the devil’s in the details.”

It is that same respect for detail and due process that Chris will bring to serving on the Council on Constitution and Bylaws. He will also bring credentials and commitment:

CREDENTIALS include being current Speaker of the Medical Society of New Jersey House of Delegates and a MSNJ presidency that focused on a rewrite of its bylaws, including a statewide redistricting plan to streamline and modernize the society’s structure.

Section chair at Saint Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick, Chris also holds an appointment as clinical associate professor of radiology at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. During his tenure as president of the hospital medical staff, he chaired the rewriting of its bylaws.

These experiences gave him, not only an understanding, but a real passion, for the value that good bylaws play in the success of an organization in service to its members.  Currently, he is working toward earning certification as a parliamentarian from the American Institute of Parliamentarians.

COMMITMENT to protecting the voice of our House and to preserving the rights of delegates in setting AMA policy is his priority.

Whether in the hospital or medical society setting, Chris is a fierce advocate for physician voice and physician control. He believes the job of CC&B is to put in place policy that protects our democratic process and best serves our practicing physicians.

The Medical Society of New Jersey, joined by the American College of Radiology, the Society of Interventional Radiology, the AMA Radiology Section Council and the Southeastern Delegation is proud to nominate Chris and asks that you join in supporting him for a seat on the Counsel on Constitution and Bylaws

What biopsies, stents, kidney stones and member-driven organizations have in common: the need for the very best, the highest quality…be it technology or bylaws. Crafting the best tools enables us to create the best policies. I am proud of how in our House we leverage diversity of thought to formulate policy to best serve our patients and our profession.
