Viewing the AMA/Specialty Society RVS Update Committee (RUC) recommendations requires acceptance of the personal non-commercial use license agreement. Grant and Limitations. You, as an individual, are authorized to use CPT and other information only as contained in the RUC Recommendation Files (the “Files”) solely for your own personal information and only within the United States. 

The AMA reserves the right to block your access to the Files if you breach the terms of this Agreement. Any and all commercial use of the Files is prohibited under this Agreement. Commercial use includes, without limitation, use within a medical practitioner’s office, hospital, or insurance company.

Any use not authorized herein is prohibited, including by way of illustration and not by way of limitation, making copies of the Files and/or CPT for resale and/or license, transferring copies of the Files and/or CPT to any party, repeatedly accessing the Files to substitute for the Current Procedural Terminology book or creating any modified or derivative work of the Files and/or CPT. License to use the Files or CPT for any use not authorized herein must be obtained through the AMA, Intellectual Property Services, 330 N. Wabash Ave., Suite 39300, Chicago, IL 60611-5885, by calling 312 464-5022 or by writing to [email protected]. Applications are available at the AMA website, http://www.ama-assn.org/go/cpt.

U.S. Government Rights.
CPT is commercial technical data, which was developed exclusively at private expense by the American Medical Association, 330 North Wabash Avenue, Chicago, Illinois 60611.  The American Medical Association does not agree to license CPT to the Federal Government based on the license in FAR 52.227-14 (Data Rights - General) and DFARS 252.227-7015 (Technical Data - Commercial Items) or any other license provision.  The American Medical Association reserves all rights to approve any license with any Federal agency.   

Disclaimer of Warranties and Liabilities. The Files are provided “as is” without warranty of any kind, either expressed or implied including, without limitation, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.  In no event will the AMA be liable to you for any damages, including any lost profits, lost savings or other incidental or consequential damages arising out of the use or inability to use such Files even if the AMA has been advised of the possibility of such damages, or for any claim by any other party. Fee schedules, relative value units, conversion factors and/or related listings are not assigned by the AMA, are not part of CPT, and the AMA is not recommending their use. The AMA does not directly or indirectly practice medicine or dispense medical services. The AMA disclaims responsibility for any consequences or liability attributable to or related to any use, non-use, or interpretation of information contained or not contained in these Files.

Termination. This Agreement will terminate if you violate its terms or if the AMA no longer makes the Files available. You agree that the AMA will be awarded court costs and reasonable attorney fees if it prevails in any action or proceeding against you due to a breach of this license. You agree upon termination to destroy any copies from the Files.

General. This Agreement will be governed by the laws of the State of Illinois without regard to choice of law principles.  You acknowledge that you have read this Agreement, understand it and agree to be bound by its terms and conditions. You further agree that this is the only agreement between us relating to the subject matter of this Agreement. If any provision hereof is held to be unenforceable or contrary to public policy the parties agree that the remaining portions are enforceable.

This Agreement shall be effective upon your acceptance by choosing the “Accept” button.
