Introduction to the Practice of Medicine

Introduction to the Practice of Medicine (IPM) is an interactive, Web-based and tablet compatible educational series that helps residents and their institutions develop the competencies required by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).

IPM features:

A comprehensive library of learning modules.
There are currently more than 30 modules in the IPM library including modules on Patient Safety, Quality Improvement, Sleep Deprivation, Physician Employment Contracts, with more modules to come!  Each module includes a formal lecture or interactive lesson, post-assessment, evaluation and course certificate of completion.

24 hour access.
Because the IPM is available 24 hours a day, each resident can complete the modules and post-assessments at his or her own convenience.

Extensive reporting features to track and document progress.
The IPM features easy-to-use tools for GME departments to seamlessly track how their institution—and residents—are using the program. These documentation capabilities present a real-time picture of your institution’s overall progress toward fulfilling competency requirements.

And a host of other valuable features!

IPM is available to institutions that sponsor the program for their residents.
