A total of 266 authors whose studies were not published as full manuscripts within 5 years of the 1991 SAEM meeting were surveyed, 223 of whom completed questionnaires. Accepted indicates abstract accepted for presentation at meeting; rejected, abstract submitted to meeting but not accepted for presentation.
