2008 AMA Medical Student/Resident and Fellow Lobby Day

March 31, 2008
Madison Hotel
Washington, D.C.

What is Lobby Day?

Lobby day is an excellent opportunity to increase your awareness of legislative issues affecting medicine, to foster relationships with legislators through political involvement, and to gain real-life education in the practical aspects of physician advocacy. Lobby Day activities include educational sessions on effective advocacy and lobbying techniques, briefings on legislative issues currently before Congress, and a full afternoon on Capitol Hill meeting with legislators and their staffs.

Lobby Day Follow-up

2008 MSS/RFS Lobby Day was a great success, with nearly 300 medical students and residents meeting with the offices of 150 members of Congress to lobby on issues of importance to medical education and the practice of medicine:

If you attended Lobby Day and did not complete and return the feedback cards included in your Lobby Day packet, please complete the online Lobby Day feedback form. Your responses will help us improve future Lobby Days.
