The AMA offers two ways for physicians to register their complaints about health plans and other insurers.
You can use the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Complaint Form to inform the AMA about health plans and other payers that are out of compliance with the HIPAA electronic transaction and code set standards. And you can still use the Health Plan Complaint Form to let the AMA know about the hassles and unfair business practices you experience in your day-to-day interactions with health plans and insurers.
Modifications have been made to both forms that take into account changes in the marketplace, such as recent mergers and acquisitions, as well as the greater level of complexity that has been introduced into the physician practice.
All complaints are confidential. Let the AMA hear you!
