| Because
a mutation has not been previously identified in Rebecca's
family and she does have Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry (from
the family history/pedigree she has reported 3 of 4 grandparents
of Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry) she should consider Multisite
3 BRACAnalysis®. Genetic
testing requires Rebecca to sign an informed consent
form stating she understands the implications of genetic
testing. A blood sample, brief family history and payment
will be sent to a lab that does sequencing for BRCA1
and BRCA2. Rebecca will need to receive her test
results in person and thus, a follow-up appointment
is scheduled on the same day her blood is drawn.
