This September, celebrate Women in Medicine Month
Each September, the AMA commemorates Women in Medicine Month. This year's theme, Women in Medicine: Empowering Leaders to Improve the Health of Women, reaffirms our commitment to increasing the influence of women physicians and advocating for women's health issues.
During Women in Medicine Month, the AMA-WPS also honors physician mentors who have offered their time, wisdom and support. Our Featured Mentor page, updated biweekly, is a great way to learn more about the mentors being recognized this year.
In honor of Women in Medicine Month, post an AMA flier commemorating the month at your institution and learn more about the milestones of women in American medicine over the past 160 years. Email the AMA-WPS for more information, and join the AMA today to get involved.
