Register for inaugural AMA-WPS meeting set for Nov. 16
Registration for the first official business meeting of the AMA Women Physicians Section (WPS) is open. The AMA-WPS meeting will take place Nov. 16 in Maryland in conjunction with the AMA Interim Meeting.
The agenda includes an education session by former Congresswoman Nan Hayworth, MD: "Women utilizing their political capital to improve health." The session will begin at noon Nov. 16 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Md. This event has been approved for 1.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™.
Also Nov. 16, the AMA-WPS reception will be held at 5:30 p.m. The business meeting agenda will include a celebration of the newly established section and honorees of the Mentor Recognition Program. A review of the AMA House of Delegates Handbook and AMA-WPS items of business also will take place.
Email the AMA-WPS to submit a resolution to the section or learn more about the upcoming meeting. The AMA-WPS resolution deadline is Oct. 10.
You be the judge: AMA Research Symposium
The 11th annual AMA Research Symposium will be held Nov. 15 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Md. Consider participating in this national competition by judging the original work of some of the brightest medical students, residents and fellows in the country from 5 to 6 p.m. A reception will follow.
