Governing Council election begins April 1; be sure to vote

Have your say in who is part of the AMA International Medical Graduates (IMG) Section Governing Council by voting in this year's governing council election, which will take place April 1–22.

Voting will take place electronically; email the AMA-IMG Section to ensure that you receive your election invitation and ballot. Six candidates are on the ballot vying for three seats plus one resident and fellow position. Your voice is important to forming the governing council, so the AMA-IMG Section encourages you to cast your vote.

Submit your resolutions for upcoming AMA-IMG Section meetings

Start preparing to submit resolutions for the AMA International Medical Graduates (IMG) Section Annual Assembly Meeting, which will take place June 14–17 in Chicago, and the section's Interim Assembly Meeting, which is set for Nov. 15–18 in National Harbor, Md.

Resolutions for the Annual Assembly Meeting are due April 1, and resolutions for the Interim Assembly Meeting are due May 1. The deadlines are part of a new resolution-submission process to have resolutions written and discussed one meeting ahead and allow enough time for comments and garnering support.

Resolution testimony and amendments will be handled via SharePoint so section members can view and consider everyone's comments. Since this will be a transition year, both Surveymonkey and SharePoint will be utilized.

You can provide comments on proposed resolutions for the Annual Assembly Meeting from April 15–19 through the AMA-IMG Section Virtual Congress. Resolutions will be ratified April 23–30.

Email the AMA-IMG Section with questions and resolutions.
