News for Academic Physicians

AMA program for academic leaders continues to grow

As educators, researchers and clinicians, academic physicians play a critical role in shaping the future of medicine. To help support academic physicians and ensure their engagement with the AMA, the Academic Leadership Group Membership Program offers discounted group membership in the AMA for a minimum commitment of six members of the medical school leadership team, which must include the medical school dean. Additional faculty members also may be added to the program at the appropriate dues discount level.

To learn more about this program, read more online, send the AMA an email or call (312) 464-5298.

Attend Academic Medicine Caucus meeting in Chicago

All AMA delegates and alternates with an academic appointment are invited to attend the AMA Academic Medicine Caucus from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Hyatt Regency Chicago in Stetson F.

Attendees will discuss issues of mutual concern and interest pertaining to academic medicine and review the report of Reference Committee C, which covers medical education issues. Come network with your colleagues and share your ideas about how the AMA can continue to provide leadership in medical education.
