Maintain a healthy practice: Give it a monthly check-up

A new AMA series shows physicians how to put their practices on track for a healthy year ahead.

The AMA's "Prescription for a healthier practice" series offers monthly checklists to help physicians and their staff examine how their practices are performing in key administrative processes.

The first checklist focuses on the claims revenue cycle and helps physicians evaluate their practice's ability to submit claims efficiently and accurately, analyze health insurer payments for accuracy, and address payment delays and denials. The checklist also recommends additional resources from the AMA Practice Management Center to address any areas that might need improvement.
