News for International Medical Graduates
Fee for ECFMG certification application increases
As of Jan. 1, the fee for submitting an application for Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification has increased from $50 to $60.
Additional fees for those applying to ECFMG for United States Medical Licensing Examination Step 1, Step 2 Clinical Knowledge (CK), and Step 2 Clinical Skills (CS) also will increase, as follows:
- The examination fees for USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK will increase from $790 to $820 for each exam registration.
- The examination fee for Step 2 CS will increase from $1,375 to $1,440 for each exam registration.
The new fees will affect all applications submitted to ECFMG on or after Jan. 1.

Vacancies available for nomination to Residency Review Committees
Consider nominating a colleague to serve on one of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Residency Review Committees.
Each year the AMA Council on Medical Education nominates representatives to key medical education organizations, Residency Review Committees of the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME), member Boards of the American Board of Medical Specialties.
The following vacancies for Residency Review Committees are available:
- Internal Medicine - Position 1
- Internal Medicine - Position 2
- Emergency Medicine
- Orthopaedic Surgery
- Urology - Position 1
- Urology - Position 2
