More than 100 international medical graduates (IMG) convened at the New Yorker Hotel to learn about what resources were available to them from the AMA and the Medical Society of the State of New York (MSSNY) during the AMA's IMG Symposium, which took place Dec. 19. Panelists discussed these resources and offered ways to maximize your marketing efforts.
PDFs of the panelists' presentations are available online. Panelists included Vijaya Appareddy, MD, chair of the AMA-IMG Section Governing Council; Andres Deik, MD, resident/fellow representative on the AMA-IMG Section Governing Council; and Sumir Sahgal, MD, chair of the IMG Committee of MSSNY.
AMA-IMG Governing Council election nominations due Feb. 18
Nominations are now being accepted for the AMA International Medical Graduates (IMG) Section Governing Council election. Three seats are available, and nominations are due Feb. 18.
If you have leadership experience, consider submitting your nomination materials for these three vacancies. AMA-IMG Section members will vote to select the new Governing Council members from April 1–22. More details, including nomination guidelines, are posted online.
