AAMC seeking submissions for GLBT health resources

Physicians and medical students are invited to submit ideas for competency-based educational and assessment resources that address the health of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) individuals, gender nonconforming, and discordant children and adolescents, and those affected by disorders of sex development, as part of an initiative by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).

Funded in part by the Josiah Macy Jr. Foundation, the goal is to create an anthology of resources to guide academic medical institutions in providing high-quality and patient-centered care for these unique populations. Learn more about the initiative and the submission process.

Create a GLBT-friendly practice; AMA resources can help

New resources from the AMA can help you ensure that your practice is well positioned for your gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (GLBT) patients.

See if your practice is listed in the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association Provider Directory and find recommended standards of practice with GLBT patients. Also, view a free set of training modules from the Fenway Institute, a tutorial video on taking a proper sexual health history and more tools to improving communication between you and your GLBT patients.
