Mentor students, residents and fellows via new AMA program
Young physician members of the AMA can encourage the next generation of physicians in career and leadership development through an online AMA mentorship program.
The AMA Mentorship Initiative pairs medical students, residents and fellows with young physicians for a 12-month mentorship that is designed to foster career advancement and leadership development in organized medicine.
Inaugural AMA-WPS meeting to be held Nov. 16 in National Harbor, Md.
Details about the first official business meeting of the AMA Women Physicians Section (WPS) now are available online. The meeting will take place Nov. 16 in Maryland in conjunction with the AMA Interim Meeting.
The agenda includes an education session titled "Women Utilizing Their Political Capital to Improve Health Outcomes," which former Congresswoman Nan Hayworth, MD, has been invited to present. This session will take place at noon–1:30 p.m. Nov. 16 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Md.
Also on Nov. 16, the AMA-WPS meeting and reception will be held at 5:30–7:30 p.m. The business meeting agenda will include acknowledgement of the AMA-WPS Mentor Recognition Program honorees and a review of AMA House of Delegates items of business.
