IMGs: The linchpin to the future of U.S. health care
"We need IMGs. Badly."
That's the message from AMA President Ardis D. Hoven, MD, in a recent American Medical News column. Dr. Hoven wrote that, after addressing the Association of Physicians of Pakistani Descent of North America meeting in July, she "gained much better insight into the contributions that foreign-born and international medical graduates … make in this country and how much we all—physicians and patients—depend on them for the success of our American health care system."
Elsewhere in AMA Wire this week, read about how international medical graduates have a strong advocate in the AMA.
