JAMA: Management of HIV infection in older patients
The population of older HIV-positive patients is rapidly expanding, according to an article in the April 3 issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).
In fact, it is estimated that by 2015 one-half of the individuals in the United States with HIV will be older than age 50. Although HIV is not a fatal disease, the care of aging HIV-infected patients will require a need to balance a number of concurrent medical conditions.
This JAMA article focuses on emerging issues related to aging with HIV and screening older adults for HIV. Read the JAMA article.
