Nominate a colleague for volunteerism award

If you know a senior physician who has volunteered to provide treatment to U.S. patients who lack access to health care, then nominate him or her for the Jack B. McConnell, MD, Award for Excellence in Volunteerism.

Last year's Jack B. McConnell, MD, Award winner, Everett R. Rhoades, MD, founded the Association of American Indian Physicians and the Oklahoma City Indian Clinic, one of the largest urban Native American health centers in the nation. Dr. Rhoades continues to volunteer to support the clinic's long-range planning efforts and to ensure that urban American Indians receive high-quality health care while away from their traditional tribal homes. Watch a video of Dr. Rhoades' ongoing work.

The Jack B. McConnell, MD, Award is part of the AMA Foundation's Excellence in Medicine Awards, which honor a select group of physicians, residents, fellows and medical students who represent the highest standards of volunteerism, public service and leadership.
