Streamline the claims process with time-of-service payment
Thinking of scary things this Halloween? Claims processing and payment shouldn't be among them. The AMA can help make time-of-service payment easy and efficient for your patients and practice.
This November, participate in "Heal That Claim"™ month, a time designated by the AMA to help physicians streamline their claims process. Throughout the month, the AMA offers opportunities to show you how to provide point-of-care pricing and accept payment at the time of service. New toolkits and live webinars will explain how to use new electronic patient-specific insurance eligibility information to improve your practice's cash flow.
Eligibility verification toolkit: This newly updated collection of resources can help you take advantage of the benefits of electronic patient eligibility verification. Starting Jan. 1, all insurers will be required to provide the patient's co-payment, co-insurance and remaining deductible amounts with each eligibility response. Most major insurers already are providing these details in advance of the compliance deadline.
Point-of-care pricing toolkit: These new resources explain how to use eligibility verification information to determine the amount the patient will be responsible to pay and offer tips for accepting payment at the time of service.
Three-part webinar series: Practice management experts will walk physicians through the process of implementing time-of-service payment as part of your claims process. Webinars will take place at 1:30 p.m. Eastern time Nov. 8, Nov. 15 and Nov. 29. Register to participate live. Each webinar also will be archived for on-demand viewing.
Paperless Practice Group: Register to join this online community, where you can participate in discussions with your peers about using such electronic health care transactions as eligibility verification.
If you plan to participate in "Heal That Claim" month, sign the online pledge to show your support and add your name to a list of other participating physician practices. This November, look to the AMA to help you simplify claims processing and payment for you and your patients.
