Webinar: How to fulfill EHR meaningful use criteria

Get insights into meeting meaningful use requirements for electronic health records (EHR) by participating in a free webinar at 12:30 p.m. Eastern time Nov. 7. Register today.

The hourlong webinar, co-sponsored by the AMA and AT&T, will explain how physicians can conquer various challenges to meet the Stage 1 and Stage 2 criteria for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services' meaningful use program.

EHR experts will explain what physicians can learn from Stage 1 attestations and strategies for meeting the Stage 2 measures. The presenters also will use case studies to illustrate how to balance patient care alongside capturing data for measures reporting. In addition, participants will learn about essential EHR functionalities for Stage 2 certification.

Thanks to a collaboration with the AMA, the AT&T Healthcare Community Online Physician Portal lets physicians choose from a comprehensive portfolio of Web-based health IT tools.

CMS wants your feedback on new Medicare card options

Share your opinions with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in a seven-question survey to help ensure the next version of Medicare identification cards do not impose a burden on physician practices.

To reduce the risk of identity theft, CMS is considering two options for Medicare ID cards that would remove patients' Social Security numbers. The agency is asking physicians for feedback to make sure the new cards do not place an undue burden on those who care for Medicare patients.

The survey closes Nov. 7.
