A newly archived AMA webinar explains what every physician needs to know about the growing number of physician audits conducted under the Medicare and Medicaid programs.
Hosted by a physician advocate and legislative attorney, this hourlong webinar covers the different types of auditors employed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and describes best practices for physicians who have received a request from one of them. The webinar also includes a forecast of emerging physician audit issues.

Conference to shed light on ACO start-up, operations
Learn the latest insights about implementing and managing accountable care organizations (ACO) at the National ACO Congress, Oct. 30–Nov. 1 in Los Angeles.
Co-sponsored by the AMA, the conference will feature experts with hands-on experience in the development and operation of ACOs. Jay Crosson, MD, AMA vice president of professional satisfaction—care delivery and payment, will present a keynote address titled "Physician culture: The key to long-term ACO success."
The conference offers two options for participants: in-person attendance at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles or virtual attendance, which is available live and at any time up to six months after the conference.
